“This was an incredible experience! We're crazy about cooking and indian food especially but we've never been able to cook anything like this until now. It's something completely different to learn from a local who's been cooking their whole life as opposed to reading recipes on the internet. Shalini is the most kind and warm host you could ever meet, she took us around the markets where we were able to buy loads of delicious spices to take home, and we got to choose some amazing veg to cook. She's a great instructor, really clear and patient, and we gained some cooking skills that we now get to practise at…”

“This was amazing! I did this cooking class back in September and it was such a great experience! I was the only person booking it that day, so we met a little earlier, went to the market together and bought all the vegetables fresh from there! Then, we went to Sanxia‘s apartment and cooked a lot of different dishes! It was really fun!! We all ate together and talked a lot. I actually ended up spending my whole day with Sanxia, her boyfriend Jürgen and their friends. It was my favorite day of my whole solo trip to Beijing, China ^^”

Meet outside Café de Tacuba for a four-hour food and culture walk through Centro Histórico and two traditional markets. You’ll ride the metro to Jamaica, sample vegan and vegetarian garnachas, and choose between making salsa or a huarache with a family-run eatery.

“The part of the tour that I would give 5* is the Jamaican Market tour and cooking our own salsa - including the group metro ride from the old town. Having more time for this would have been even better. Our tour didn't finish until 2pm, and ended in a rush. The first half of the tour was walking around the old town, including inside the Cathedral and seeing some fascinating murals that we'd never have found on our own. This took us by surprise, as it was not included in the descroption if this tour, and was not really food related. You could lose this part of the tour…”
